DAMA

Project Introduction

DAMA, the Designated Area Migration Agreement, is a formal agreement between the Australian Government and state or territory authorities. The DAMA agreement is a branch of the Temporary Skills Shortage 482 visa, which falls under the employer-sponsored category.

How does DAMA work

Employers in the areas designated by the DAMA agreement can guarantee overseas technical professionals to work in Australia through the DAMA framework agreement, thus greatly filling the manpower shortage in related industries. In other words, overseas applicants can also work in Australia through the form of employer sponsorship, and then obtain the opportunity to apply for Australian permanent residence status.

How to apply for DAMA

Overseas applicants cannot directly apply for the DAMA agreement. The DAMA program is an agreement between employers with recruitment needs in designated areas and the Australian government. Only after becoming a qualified employer can you recruit the corresponding talents overseas through the DAMA agreement.

If you want to work in Australia under the DAMA agreement and apply for a permanent residence visa in the future, overseas applicants need to agree to work and live in the location of the sponsoring employer for three years.
